Wednesday Thoughts

Right at the moment it matters not if you belong to a huge family or you have no close relative on earth, we are all journeying on this turbulent sea with no horizon in sight and in a vessel where a highly contageous disease is running amok. Everyone is scared for themselves and for those they care about.

We cannot disembark and are destined to remain adrift at sea until the day comes when land is sighted - right now none know when that will be.

For many of us our Hayes End church has been the port in our storm, the safe haven where we feel secure, knowing that God and those who follow his son's teaching confirm that nothing can ever separate us from his love. All very well and good - but when, as now, that regular human contact is denied us we are lost and miss so much of that church's life.

It is now three years since I left the area and am still missing many of the weekly contacts - not least the regular Wednesday morning visits to local care homes in our attempt to spread God's message - it all began in the late nineties when a group of four or five of us visited the newly built home on Derwent Drive and continued until now and the monthly visits to Aston House in Angel Lane. Sadly that is now denied visitors.

Here's something to fill that gap - starting on Wednesday 1st April there will be a short one-sheet note with a message for everyone. We will be posting them on Facebook and here and for those with no access, we ask any friends to pass on this message.

Blessings to everyone
