
During the week our premises are used for many different activities both by community groups and church based ones. Here are just some of them.
On Monday and Thursday during term time the Parent & Toddlers group meets in the hall from 10am until mid-day. It offers the opportunity for families with young children to come along and link up with other parents. Also the Play Box Toy Library is open on Thursday mornings. The library is open to all local families and local childminders, who want to join. It provides toys to borrow for young children for a small fee. 1st Hayes End Girls Brigade Company meets on Wednesday evenings. They cater for girls from 5 to 18 years and sessions for the younger ones start at 6pm. Fun, learning, skill development, Christian teaching and friendship forms the basis of Girls' Brigade. Every group has its own style, but all GB companies work to similar targets. 4th Hillingdon Boys Brigade Company is a Christian organisation that meets on Friday evenings. Catering for boys from 5 to 18, the sessions start at 5.30pm. Its aim is to provide a range of activities including crafts, life skills and various sporting activities. More information can be found on their website or email them here.
Our Messy Church meets on the last Satuday of the month during term-time. Starting at 5pm, it is a chance for families to spend time together having fun and learning about Jesus. The session ends around 6.30pm with a shared meal. For more information email them here.
Our Bright Hour meets on alternate Mondays from 2.30. The meetings open with a chat, a cup of tea and a selection of hymns or choruses of the members' choice. Then there are speakers on various subjects. Many people from local churches give up their time to talk to us about their varied interests and experiences or places they have been to. If you would like to join them you would be more than welcome and, who knows, perhaps you have a story you could share with them as well. For more information contact Eva by email here.
CMSS is a day centre for people with disabilities and use the hall as a base for one of their groups. During term time they only use the hall a couple of times a week, but during the college holidays they tend to use it every day. They have regular flower arranging classes here and the group enjoy catching up with each other during the holidays. Hayes End Afternoon Townswomens Guild meets on the 2nd Tuesday each month from 2 - 4pm. Each month they have visiting speakers or entertainment and monthly competitions. Membership is £23 a year. For more information contact Dorothy Greaves on 01895 847048.
Spotlight Musical Theatre Company rehearse in the hall on Tuesdays from 7.30 - 9.30pm. Their members range in age from eighteen to over eighty and they perform three musical theatre shows over a two year period. For more information contact Sarah at sarlawrence@hotmail.co.uk or visit their website.
Rethink Hayes Carers Drop-in meet on Wednesday from 1-3pm. They offer an opportunity for carers of people with severe mental health issues in the London Borough of Hillingdon to come together and meet other people in similar situations. The group has a varied programme of activity including arts and crafts, social activities, occasional speakers and access to therapeutic treatments. There is an Alcoholics Anonymous group meeting here on Sundays from 7.45pm. This is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
