HopeI have had the privilege of spending five days at Spring Harvest in Minehead with old and new friends from the Hayes Methodist churches. The theme running through those five days was HOPE. What a harvest we received! We were led by various speakers into looking and reliving again the stories and events of
In the evenings we ended every day with praise and thanksgiving. To join in with so many brothers and sisters in Christ, singing and praising our God was like having a taste of what one day it will be like when we meet up with all the Hosts of Heaven and our loved ones in Eternity. This year many churches throughout our country will be involved with HOPE 2008. This is a united mission to go out and show Christ's love and to serve the needy and suffering people in our communities. We perhaps can do this by gardening, cleaning, shopping, working with children etc. We are called to show Christ's love by coming alongside people, just as Jesus did, and bring them light and hope where they feel hopeless. Through the Magazine I would like to say thank you so much my friends for many moments shared and times spent together. Thank you to Beryl and Colleen for the many laughs we shared in our chalet - we really feasted well! Thank you to Jongi for the telephone call received by all of us when we returned home - this was so thoughtful and much appreciated. And, a special word of thanks to Pat for all your organizing and taking such wonderful care of all of us. To finish, two things stand out for me from my time with you all at Spring Harvest - ![]() Joyce (Davies) Next report >> |
