Bill's Accreditation Service

It was such a great pleasure and privilege to be able to witness Bill's accreditation as a Local Preacher on the Bill cutting his congratulation cakeevening of Wednesday 23rd April. Bill, who is a member at the Hayes End church, has worked diligently and prayerfully for many, many months to achieve this status and we can only offer him our love, support and congratulations at the culmination of so much effort. When God calls it is for us to obey, and very certainly Bill has answered and obeyed that Calling.

The Service of Accreditation was led by our Circuit Superintendent, the Rev. Carol Hamilton-Foyn assisted by local preachers Charles Morris, George Kulasingham and our own Hayes Sector Minister, the Rev. Jongi Zihle. Bill had worked alongside Carol with the preparation of the Service, choosing many of his 'special' hymns. There was one in particular called "The Potter's Hand" by Darlene Zschech that was not perhaps quite so well-known, but, as Bill said in his very homely testimony, spoke so powerfully to him. It was also very good to have Jean from North Hillingdon, and Peter from Yiewsley as our musicians and that greatly enhanced our singing. During the time of worship Bill received a letter from the President of the Methodist Conference, a presentation Bible from the Circuit and gifts of congratulation from his 'home; church, Hayes End.

Friends and family came along to support Bill on this very special occasion, and it was so good to see his wife Jan by his side, especially as she does not always enjoy the best of health. Also, we know how delighted Bill was to see his original Tutor, the Rev. John Lambert and wife Sue who were there to wish him well. This milestone in Bill's journey with his Saviour culminated in shared Holy Communion with family and friends from many churches in the Hillingdon Circuit, and of course from the Hayes Sector.

Following the Worship time, a buffet had been prepared by the ladies of Hayes End, giving many folk an opportunity to give Bill their personal congratulations and catch up on news with friends.
