Christian Resources Exhibition @ Sandown Park

Sandown Park Race Course may seem like a strange place for a group of Methodists to spend the day, but that's where the Christian Resources Exhibition is held each year.



Twenty or so from the Hayes Sector spent the day wandering around hundreds of stalls selling everything that a worshipping community might require both for personal growth and to equip their congregations and church buildings. Needless to say some of us were more interested in the books than the furnishings, but it's always interesting to see what's on offer. Some of our group managed to attend some of the talks and seminars that were available and found them to be very informative and inspiring - watch out for some new ideas based on what they've found out! There were also clowns and other entertainers around the site to make the trip more interesting for the youngsters that were there (and the not so young apparently Terry!).

One of the other good things about CRE is that we meet up with people who've moved away from our area. This year was no exception. It was great to catch up with Becky who is now a Deacon and working in Reading. She hasn't changed and is still a bundle of laughs and it was wonderful to hear that she is now engaged to her longterm boyfriend and they are starting to plan their Cornish wedding.
